Tyre damaged in petrol station due to a damaged plinth

My misses tyre has been sliced when she caught the plinth in a petrol station. It has a sharp bit of metal sticking out and she lightly caught it and it has put a slice in her tyre. The petrol station have ignored my letter. So what should my next step be? There liable and if anyone every caught there ankle on it, it would just slice straight through. You can see it clearly on the photo.
