  • Shared rented house, mixture of students and employed tenants

I am moving into a, shared house with 4 other people. Three, are full time final year students, I have just finished at university, as has the other non student. Obviously the three students, are exempt from Council tax, but the house is a, Band D and the council tax payment per month is 189.00. Do we have to pay this between us, or is there any way the Council can do a pro rata charge (I. e. The two employed tenants pay two fifths of the total charge, with the remaining three fifths covered by exempt student cover. Hope this makes sense. Thanks
