  • conveyancing error about waste

    Hi all,

Hopefully this is in the write section.

I purchased my property in Nov 2018, all was going smoothly and the conveyancer had emailed to state that the only thing holding up the purchase was that he needed to dig more to ensure that it was mains waste and not a reed bed or septic tank. All was confirmed as mains waste. Happy days.

However around 4 months ago I received a letter through my door from the village associated to cough up £30 a month to pay for the new septic tank and all of its associated maintenance.

Where do I stand with this? I mean I have no issues paying as the village doesn't have mains waste but with regards to the wrong information sold to me when purchasing? Do I go back to the firm I used about it?

    Any advice would be appreciated

    Thanks

    Nathan
