2 Years ago the local council approved plans for housing development next to me, within 1 metre of my living room and dining window. It was pushed through as it was stated i would get a small parcel gifted down as a buffer between me and the housing development (4 metres), this land had a condition attached to it saying the developers would need to liaise with the resident to agree landscaping. The developers have not bothered and the council have discharged the condition anyway.
The developers have threatened that if I cause trouble they will not transfer the land and instead put in a management contract that would have access to the land close to my house, I would get no say as to what I look at.
One year into the construction work next door we decided to landscape the land ourselves, we were depressed at looking at a patch of weeds and rubbish. The idea was that the land was intended to be gifted to us and the developers had told me they had no intention of spending any money on us.
When the developers found out we had landscaped the land they told us to return the land to the state it was previously in and I said no. Since then we have had no communication from the developers, we cannot sell our house and move because the land is still in question.
have asked my local MP and councillor to speak to the developer to try and resolve this and have even sent solicitors letters asking them to sort out the gifted land and or landscaping issue. But nothing has happened
The developers have finally started building next to us and it is very intrusion, i cannot take the dog outside as I get an audience of builders watching and swearing. I have emailed the developers again asking them to put up the privacy trees they promised in the planning meeting but have not received any reply.
Can any please advise how I can get out of this situation? The lack of privacy is making me very stressed and the whole situation has been going on for too long.
