Possible private prosecution of local education authority?

I've got a very, very serious problem with the local council and information (incorrectly) held about me. They are not properly responding to complaints either.

I joined VIP and posted on the private forum about a very sensitive case, but there's no-one over there and it's gone unanswered for weeks.

I gave up trying to get advice on forums and got ripped off by a "proper" legal firm, and nearly ripped by a McKenzie. I'm out of cash and at my wit's end.

What the hell do I do? If the council are holding seriously, provably defamatory information about me, is that not something I can get legal aid for?
