I dont know if Im postin this in correct place but it seems best place to start and I hope someone can help. Baring in mind I am in scotland.
I was a childminder few years back and had problems with person paying fees. She did get paid by dwp and also claimed from benevolent fund so she got paid twic to pay me and she kept saying she had not paid until I foned dept works and pension to enquire about it.
Anyways, I was told she had been paid so I spoke to the lady who had apparently doent his to a few other childminders and they just let her walk away because she was troublesome and caused damage to property and cars etc.
The lady in question actually works for dwp office as well in the accounts dept...
I gave the lady notice to find new childminder and employed the childminding solicitors to start chasing her up after I sent letters to her that they recommended with no answer.
This had all happened 3yrs ago and since then, the solicitors have not kept in touch and it seems they aint doing enough to get my payment from her.
They did manage to get a wage arrestment order, but have failed to serve it on her because they are being told she doesnt work there anymore, which I know she does because we cross paths at school gates wen she collects her child after work still wearing her identity badge.
She had an arrestment on her wage wen they tried servin first order on her employers, so they waited till that was finished and wen they tried again, they got told she wasnt there anymore which I know is a lie.
I have kept harrassin the solicitors because we are not talkin peanuts we are talking £500 which she never paid and i cant afford to just forget about it.
At one point, my solicitors told em I needed to get her national insurance number so they could find her but how can I get hold of anyones national insurance number?...thats just ridiculous.
I spoke to my local MP who gave me name of chief of finance for dwp so I gave it to the solicitors but they have never returned my calls or e-mails and its now begining to bother me..... This lass knos all the lopholes and fiddles the system to her own advantage and gets away with it....
Does anyone have any info that would help? Could I complain about the solicitors not doing their job properly? 3yrs is a long time to chase someone and get nowhere!
