  • Neighbour Problems

We have lived at our address quite happily for 8 years now, without receiving any complaints.

That is until last year a new neighbour moved in.

I'm asking for advice as the main problem is the neighbour is a Councillor, and we feel he is causing us harassment since the day him and his wife moved in.

The first day they moved in, their daughter went to park across our drive, blocking us in.

We have double yellow lines, and an h bar across our driveway.

We made it perfectly clear that day no one was to park across the drive under any circumstances, I am registered disabled and a blue badge holder for a start.

We have had words on at least 4 occasions about this matter, but touch wood this seems to have stopped.

Other issues are as follows:- banging on the party wall all times of the day and night, allowing a dog to bark at all times of the day and night.

The poor dog doesn't get walked twice a day, and we have had problems with dog mess appearing on our driveway, for which we are purchasing a CCTV camera this week.

The couple have been bad mouthing us to our other neighbours which we are upset about, claiming they don't get on with us when they should be looking at their behaviour!!

We have also smelt cannabis on a regular basis, and we were told by a fellow Councillor it was common knowledge they both smoked cannabis but when we challenged him over it he denied it!!

We have smelt cannabis regularly, they then both go out and drug drive which I find shocking with him being a Councillor he should know better!

Its the behaviour which concerns us, any advice because we don't want to complain directly to the Council in case of things turning nasty.
