  • Changing legal status

Partner suffered injury causing severe traumatic brain injury just over a year ago. He was due to move in with me a week after the accident. A year on he remains confused and agitated is under dols and lacks mental capacity. It is envisaged that he will undergo rehab for next 2 years before he’ll live in his own residence with 24/7
Care. legal financial deputy appointed and case manager. As we weren’t living together I have no status and there is no reason why I should be given any consideration even though I have been there for him since day 1. We were together for 3 years prior to his accident.
What can I do to have legal recognition of my status to enable me to influence where he will live and who would grant consent for me to live with him when he is resident in his own home
