  • disclosure of personal situation at work

Ok so i have been seeing this girl, everyone at work knows her and she fell pregnant, no one knew abou this until she had to have be baby removed at 10 weeks as it was ectopic. I tool this news very hard, I was at work at the time when I was informed. I followed the protocol, informed my line manager who informed the centre manager, after short discussion I went home to clear my head.

returning to work, it was my turn to work the weekend.....i work 1 in 8 weekends and have no contact with one chap who works weekends only. as soon as there were no staff in the office, he approached me with a look of concern and asked "how are you, is everything ok?". my response "yeah of course, why wouldnt it be?". I could tell immediatly that he wanted to say something but didnt proceed to, so I carried on working as if nothing had happened. This gentleman is related to the centre manager and I know that he is up to date with my very personal situation and I have every intention of bringing this breach to light but I need to gain evidence.

so here is where I need the advice, im very angry and upset about the situation so i need to be sure im being rational and not breaching anything myself so ill share the plan.

He needs a minor repair doing to his car, I fully intend to use a recording device and start a calculated discussion where he has the option to disclose what he knows without me asking any leading questions. I will only be asking questions in respons to information i gain and thus letting the conversation evolve until I have an admission of knowledge and source. I then intend to request a formal meeting with management, HR and regional management where I will replay the conversation (which will have also been whitnessed by another) and start extracting information from management within the confines of the formally recorded meeting. I expect the audio recording will be nothing to go on in court but I am expecting it to bring an admission in the recorded meeting. Things will progress from there.

maybe there is another wya to gain the evidence I need? never been through anything like this before.....especially in such a large organisation.

I may be completely off the mark, and i may just be being paranoid but I know for a fine fact that infromation is shared all th time that shouldnt be.....on this occasion im not willing to let it lie, this was a huge breach of my trust and policy.

Im sure there is law covering the use of unknown recording equipment....however if he is in my own home.......im not so sure.

    Any advice is welcome

    Kind regards
    montym
