  • Self employed contact

Hello, first time posting and hoping someone can help?

I am currently self employed and have been for a few years, however my current contract is unprofitable (started 15th February 2016) I understand that i have only been at current place two weeks but I have not had one day where I have made a profit, and with childcare costs to take into account, I can no longer work there.

I am a hairdresser and rent a chair within the salon, because of this I was sent over a contract to look at. On my first day, before I had started working, I was told to sign the contract... I did, big mistake.

I have given it a couple of weeks now and neither weeks have i recouped on the rent paid out.
My rent to the salon is priced at £36.00 per day, £144.00 per week.
Because of this I want to leave and am lucky enough to have another job, however contract states four weeks written notice or pay four weeks rent upfront. In all honesty paying the rent upfront isn't really an option, especially when I have now been without wages for just over 3 weeks.

I am wanting to break the contract and either leave immediately or work less notice, the salon owner is not overly understanding and is currently taking the contractor before me through tribunal.

Without coming to some sort of agreement, we really will start to struggle financially.

Any help would be so appreciated, thank you
