  • please help...newbie employee

i am currently unfit for work . i slipped bagged my head whilst carrying out my duties as a delivery driver for a supermarket " every little helps "during our recent bad snow weather ... a duty manager drove with another driver to my location to collect me ..and returned to store and phoned a ambulance ...after xrays i was discharged, later i visited my doctor complaining of headaches /nausea ..and swelling to my left knee...my discharge notes said i had post concussion syndrome and traumatic knee injury...whilst my concussion has eased , i have been referred to a knee clinic for further investigation
.. i have spoke to my duty manager on numerous occasions informing of my situation ...but keep on getting rule book answers..of plan to return to work options . my intial fit note was for head injury and now i have informed them of my next fit note for knee injury
i cannot proivde them with a time frame to return to work and they have asked for 1st meeting , presumably to discuss next steps
also i wasnt provded with any saftey boots or uniform other than a company hi-vz jacket ... i have only been in the company for 4 months
i did enquire about my uniform etc..and was told there is a back log currently
    my main concerns are
    A short employment record
B my time frame for return to work

i spoke to the relevant union ..but i hadn't joined them when the accident happened and they informed me that they could not be at the meeting

this whole situation is stressing me ..
