  • Marriage discrimination???

    Hi,

My wife and I both work in sales for the same company. Our employer offers an annual "High Achievers" incentive in the form of a holiday. The standard practice is that any employee who qualifies gets to go on the trip and invite a guest. My wife and I have both qualified but we are being told by senior management that we have to travel together and are restricted from inviting a guest each. We are both fiercely independent and feel unfairly treated by this ruling.

In the eyes of the law, are we being discriminated against just because we are married and if so, is there a particular reference to some law that we can quote to our employer?

I appreciate your responses and thank you in advance if you take the time to answer.

    Regards

    RnG
