  • Advice on disciplinary

Thanks for reading - It is a long read so it is appreciated!

I will start at the beginning - I used to supervise a customer service office (UK based), however one of my team members left their job with a large workload that was not completed and had not been for some time. I received a Written warning for this. As a supervisor I should have been checking her work - understood, I was to blame for not checking. I have raised stress as an issue due to workload on this occassion.

Since then i have been demoted to a standard executive (same pay, different pay banding).

I now work in our Logistics department with very similar responsibilities to complete: Courier claims, spreadsheets, generally arranging couriers. i have not received a job description, only a contract, despite asking for this on multiple occassions.

I currently have an intolerable workload - I have told my direct manager twice and was informed that I am the only person available that knows how to complete the workload, so I would have to work overtime to complete all of the day-to-day tasks that needed to be completed.

Today they have found mistakes on a spreadsheet that I have been working on - and this will be taken to a further disciplinary for negligence of duties. However I would like to know how I currently stand with this - With no Job description, not enough time in the day to physically complete the work. The workload will increase during our peak season (online retailer), however If I do not work the overtime of course this will be negligence as I will be unable to complete the duties I am expected to do.

It seems as though the overtime if essentially being forced onto me - as If I do not work endless hours it will proceed further down the disciplinary route.

I am aware that an intolerable workload is considered to be harassment and bullying, and so am considering speaking to our HR department and raising this as an issue, as If the workload and expectations do continue i will consider resigning.

Any advice that you could share?
