  • Pay rise Rights

    Hi Everyone,

The company I work for is proposing to apply a 3% annual pay rise for shop floor employees, some of which are members of the negotiating union (GMB), however the majority are not. I work in the offices and there is talk that this 3% will not apply to office or monthly paid staff.

Does everyone know if this is legal? Surely if the shop floor employees whom are not union members get this 3% pay rise it should be across the board even to office workers.?? If not is it discrimination.

In addition, I am actually in another union (unite). Does this mean than if the GMB union members get a rise should it not apply to all union members in an organisation regardless of if their union is negotiating??

Thanks for any help given :-)
