RBS/NatWest are no longer offering the 5 year railcard.
They said: "Our own research shows that the most valued part of our student accounts are the free tiered overdraft. We wanted to make sure this is protected and while it's been a difficult decision to make, we think students would prefer an up to £2,000 interest-free overdraft ahead of a £125 railcard."
Utterly butterly stupid. They don't have the best account anymore, imho so if you have kids going into University then NatWest is NOT the place for you anymore since their overdraft facility is quite low for first year students. I would add, DO NOT take the credit card out and use it for cash cos that would be a huge mistake.
