Voluntary termination of PCP on Mini

I have a PCP on a Mini - I am needing to reduce my monthly outgoings due to a change in circumstances. At the moment 1 am 26 months through a 48 month contract and won't hit the 1/2 way mark until next July. Ideally I would prefer to return the car earlier but this doesn't look possible as resale value is considerably less than I owe. The alloy wheels are marked - I am wondering if I should get this repaired before I return the car next year as presumably I will otherwise get hit with a hefty Mini bill? Thanks any advice much appreciated.
