  • How to proceed with faulty door installation

Could you please advise on how we can proceed.

We had a front door installed in July 2020. In January (less than 6 months after date of installation) we have trouble closing it and notified the installer. They came out and made some modifications.

Less than a month later (Feb) the problem started to happen again.

Installer says faulty part and that the door manufacturer is not doing site visits due to Covid restrictions.

(Although the door manufacturer tells me on the phone that they are doing site visits.)

Early March we asked when they would be replacing the faulty part. The installer says supplier sent wrong item.

Early April we ask for an update? Installer says contact at supplier is not in, and they do not know where the part is.

    -------------

This is ridiculous. They are just stringing us out, and we suspect it is an installation issue and nothing is wrong with parts. The installer is just time wasting.

And their website says trading for over 30 years, but the company has actually only been around for 10 years. They seem to repeatedly open and close companies with very similar names (e.g. ABC Double Glazing Ltd, ABC Windows Ltd, ABC Improvements Ltd, etc)

We fully paid for the door by Visa credit card.

Would our credit card provider be an easier route to getting our money back from these cowboys?
