Hi , i need a little bit of help , we pay £433 a month for a shop we rent , we have rented this shop for 12 years we have never had a lease or a contract, we run our business from this address. Now the landlord as telephoned us out of the blue and say he wants £700 a months or we get out . do we have any rights . he says its because the price of gas and electric has gone up . we pay the electric and we have no gas connection , the shop is in poor shape because we have had no end of water leaks from the flat upstairs , which he owns to , we asked him if he repairs the holes in the ceiling and repairs the mess he as made we would concider paying £700 , but hes told us no and we should claim off our own insurance to repair his shop . can he just tell us to get out , or does he need to give us notice. the shop next door is the same size as ours but as hot and cold running water and a toilet fitted ours as nothing , they only pay £500 a month we have the same landlord
