I have a tenant who has taken over a lease and on the new lease it states that the Term is Ten Years from 16th January 2022.
It also states that the Rent Payment Dates are 25th March, 24th June, 30th September and 25th December in each year.
The Rent Commencement Date states The 16th day of January [2 months from term commencement date] 2022.
My tenant is now saying that he has a rent free period between 16th Jan-25th Mar 2022, whereas I believe the rent is due from 16th January 2022.
Can someone please clarify?
