              Re: Abbey bank charges

              1. Have you had a read of the hardship threads yet? I think you should write a letter to Abbey and request that they review your claim as one of hardship. I'll help you with that once you have the bones of it. It's better if you write it and then we edit, or it looks like a template letter.

              2. Your priority is your mortgage closely followed by your council tax. Can you get any help with benefits for these?

              3. Do you have copies of the agreements for your credit cards - if so can you post those up too.

              4. Do you have all your statements for your credit cards - if so, start reclaiming the charges on them. Even if it's not a lot of money it will reduce the balance for you. If you don't have the statements start by sending the SAR from the library.

              5. Do you have PPI on any of these? If you do cancel it.

No prob. I deleted my previous post as I thought it would just confuse matters. Various people are looking at this to come up with the best way forward.

                keep your chin up!

Just a quick question - is there PPI (Payment Protection Insurance) on the credit cards?

                    Re: Abbey bank charges

We'll leave the credit cards to one side for the moment then and concentrate on Abbey.

It will do you some good, Abbey are paying out on grounds of hardship. So you need to write that letter as soon as possible before the mortgage gets out of hand.

Pick pieces out of all the other hardship threads and pull a letter together.

If you have PPi on the credit cards, does this cover you for unemployment? You could possibly get part of the balances paid off if it does.
