  • extensions of time to file defence

    Hello,

i had some previous advice here regarding pre action extensions but I am now dealing with more issues with the same solicitors and could really do with opinions on what to do. These solicitors, having requested many extensions of time in pre action on a connected matter are now trying to push my patience. They are insisting they need a 14 day extension of time to file a defence, they gave no reason. They also failed to take part in pre action and did not respond to that atall.

My gut instinct is that this is deliberate game playing and i do not want it to affect my claim by refusing but the situation has become impossible. Please clarify if my preference to refuse and contact the court to explain why is the best approach. I think their failure to engage in pre action is important here.

    Thank you

Bump. Could someone explain if this is normal at least? I only know one other person with experience in dealing with Legal matters and they never came across this.
