Most will agree with your noble view(s), Amethyst and EXC.

However, many early OTR members have been labelled as rejects, when in fact they joined OTR at the very same time as, B: 2006 and have/had been loyal members
but now labelled as, rejects after 4+ years of membership.

The first wave, decided to leave or abstain from posting after the Lowell incident;
the second wave, after it became clear that their plea's would not be heard;
the third wave, after pt made the decision to throw the towel in Re Egg.....

Turning back to the Lowell incident.

IMO, many early members became enraged when 'B', put her oar into a thread, (Lowell Financial; now deleted) which she had not posted on prior.

She could not leave the matter alone though but re-commenced her, how can I say, attack and ridicule of many intelligent early OTR members in the Beer Garden forum (also on MSE)

She really is not worth the pixels, her and some of the original site team have been the cause of all the bitterness and bad feeling over the years, they have colluded, lied and cheated to remove site team members with a level of enthuisasm and intelligence that they could never hope to match starting beforeSharon and now going to PT and have applauded when good decent people have left either the site team or as users as it gives them their moment of glory to go around crowing that they are long term loyal members, hiding behind their 20,000+ posts of drivel and venom in the name of protecting the almighty CAG and its founders, they will stop at nothing, wrecking marriages, putting peoples safety at risk and making false accusations to employers to name just a few of their underhand lying tactics. In their own words becoming a moderator is the greatest acheivement in their lives. The saddest thing is when the owners have been confronted with the evidence against the poison that infiltrates their ste on a daily basis they ignore it - an organisation that was started to fight corporate bullying now brushes it under the carpet in its own and refuses to face up to their failings.

Those that have been got rid of - or been too disgusted to stay and there will be loads more I can't think of off the top of my head.

Loads and loads of members and not just the recent influx here. On a forum of any size people will drift, but a huge number like the recent ones have been pushed.

Indeed, Emerald. Back in 2007, two previous CAG stalwarts exposed for all to see just what arrogant, cowardly liars the CAG team are. In the few days following that, I counted well over 100 active - and many of them 'core' - CAG members leaving, to take up residence in PC. For them to leave what was possibly considered at the time to be a 'broadsheet' forum - for what may have seemed like a 'tabloid' - must have taken some agonizing over. That 'tabloid' has nevertheless shown that it has far more integrity than the arrogant 'broadsheet' - by its' apparent 'ethos' of dealing with its' members as EQUALS, and not as INFERIORS.

At the time, I genuinely hoped that exodus might turn the tide over there, but it didn't. Sadly, that eminent broadsheet seems to have now descended to summat akin to "Domination games for the Socially Challenged' - or even 'Spanking Monthly' (pardon my speling). When editorial content is bottom of the list, and readership numbers is top, then I guess this is what we must expect.

Well - OK. When my copy of 'Spanking Monthly' plops onto the doormat, then I do NOT want to see ads in it for 'How to rid yourself of unwanted peccadillo's' - I like my little pet pleasures.

BUT, when I open my copy of 'How to get on Top of your Finances' - I do NOT want to see ads in it for Loan Sharks, DCA's, CRA's et al. When I put my pet pleasures away, I need to get serious. When I need a helping hand to stay afloat, I need a polystyrene ring, not concrete boots. Ain't that right, Tools ? !!!

We need to be able to trust those to whom we turn for help - or we turn away, and maybe drown. So - peeps who are looking for a bit of virtual-reality role-playing will go for "Domination games for the Socially Challenged' - and Gawd bless 'em. Peeps who just want to get their hard-earned money back will find places like ours........eventually.

OK. I'm a night-shift taxi-driver. I've had a drink and I'm done here, now. And THIS is where we must make the distinction. I'm now logging off to surf some porn sites - OK ? THIS is where we need to make a distinction 'twixt reality and fantasy, innit ? Some of us just can't do that. I DEFFO do NOT want to see any 'self-help' pop-ups in the next hour !!!!

Who, incidentally, was got rid of because he refused to remove ads from his Cabot blog. Which strangely enough, he managed to have on there and STILL filter out the crap; the loan sharks, the CMCs, and all the detritus CAG SHOULD realise causes misery. But don't seem to care.

Incidentally, her recent posts in MSE seem to indicate that, although she flatly refused to hear anything bad about CAG, and in that I include the complaints about the ads, she didn't actually know there WERE ads. WTF??? :tinysmile_aha_t:

This may sound harsh but why are we giving advice to CAG about how they run their site? If I am right in saying this, they have already said that THEIR interests remain paramount above all other considerations. With respect, please can someone make the suggestion to CAG on CAG cos they have already said that they do not visit here so they would not read the post.

In my 'umble experience with GAG, Leclerc, any attempt to suggest that they run the site any other way than they do is met there with immediate censorship, followed by expulsion of the poster. Whether they are stupid or not is for each of us to make our own decision on, but they are deffo stone deaf, IMHO.

But what is said here is at least said without paranoid censorship, and is available for all that have eyes to read it. And if LB is still being shown as the Disney Channel over there, then LB is most certainly not being ignored by them, I reckon.
