Is there a way for an estate administrator (and beneficiary) to ascertain the bank account details of their subjects ?
Please assume that no bank statements etc. are available (all accidentally burnt)
The bank that we're convinced they used for decades have been helpful and friendly but repeatedly state that they have only 8 months worth of transactions.
Multiple enquiries to "My Lost Account" have all resulted in "no account" found.
We wondered whether the DWP might be prepared to disclose the bank account details that their pensions were paid into ? We have official documents to back up our inquiry (death certificates / probate report / wills, etc).
This type of situation must come up from time to time.
If anybody has any pointers, especially regarding the DWP, we'd be very grateful; and would it make any difference if the inquiry was made by a solicitor ?
thanks in advance
