  • Seeking Guidance on a Complex Family and Property Dispute

    Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out for support and guidance regarding a challenging situation involving my family and two properties.

For many years, I have been the primary caretaker and financial supporter of a home that I built from the ground up. This home was insured in my name for my mother, sister, daughter, and myself. However, the property remains in my mother’s name, and despite paying for it for 18 years, my brother and sister are now trying to assert that it belongs to my mother alone. They are claiming that I coerced her into signing the house over to me, despite her being fluent in English and having lived and worked in the U.S. for over 50 years.

During a particularly difficult time, my brother attempted to lock me out of my home while he was at the hospital caring for my mother, who was suffering from multiple infections and other health issues. He even suggested placing her in a skilled nursing facility, which I felt was inappropriate given her condition. I later discovered that he had taken out a life insurance policy on her, which he has not disclosed. This raises serious concerns about his intentions.

I am currently navigating this complex legal situation without representation after my lawyer passed away during the appeal process. The court has now referred to my mother’s alleged inability to understand English, which I believe misrepresents her capabilities and undermines my position.

I’m looking for insights on how to proceed in this multi-faceted case. Has anyone here faced a similar situation? Any advice on legal strategies, resources for finding new representation, or how to deal with family dynamics during such a challenging time would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for your help!

Sadly your post tells us very little that is of any use. I infer that you have suffered a setback in court, which you may be presently attempting to appeal. What has happened, and what reasons has the court given for ruling against you? What orders has the court made?
