  • Fraudulent misrepresentation

    Dear all
I am currently awaiting a response from a Probate registry officer who has reviewed reporting evidence I sent. It appears the solicitor used a fraudulent Will when he sent iht400 to HMRC. What would the outcome be for this?

On the very limited information that you have given, I can only suggest that you await the outcome of the officer's review. Otherwise, consult a solicitor.

Hello, Thank you for your response. In brief, The Will of my late father had been altered, it was not disclosed at the time and I was unaware of the changes. The Solicitors involved in administering the estate were aware as they had changed it. I had written to HMCT regarding a different matter which was the Grant of Probate stated on it Power Reserved to another executor. Which I was aware the Will did not permit the appointment. HMCT replied that it should have been amended and it was in error. Further on the Will was reviewed and the Will I held a draft of and the Will annexed at the Court differed from that submitted with the iht400. An official at hmct then requested a copy of the document with the signatures on the reverse (as it were) I sent this and have been waiting for their response. I am just trying to understand the situation and what to expect?
