RE: Executors' neutral stance meaning in practice

Please can someone guide as to how Executors' adopting a neutral stance works when dealing with Beneficiaries, and

    1) they do not tell what the outcome is into an investigation into a validity of a will
    2) they say legal privilege is not wave when they sought advice during the investigation
    3) they recommend/suggest courses of action (for remedy) for others to do (but not any actions for themselves to do)

    Thank you.
