  • Paying upfront probate fees before probate

I'm the executor and sole beneficiary of my late mother's estate.I have to pay upfront solicitor's fees for their fixed fee form filling only application for probate. So different to the package that you can buy that covers the complete work were they handle the money then take fee at the end after probate granted.i'm very short of money in my own current account but have already been given money from my mum's account when I closed it as it was lower than the banks probate limit.
Mum's estate doesn't owe any IHT or anything to HMRC and I'm wondering if it would be ok to pay those upfront fees from that account with the money that came from her estate before probate being granted. I've just been sent banking details for the solicitor to pay the bill and thought I would ask on here.
At some point they do a id verification that I suppose is more to do with transactions concerning people buying homes and worries about money laundering and I think they probably ask for bank statements then as part of that mobile app that gathers data for id.
I would just hope they are happy to be getting paid and aren't bothered about the funds in this low value transaction

You already asked this on another thread and it got answered: yes you can pay probate-related costs from the Estate before probate is granted.
