Good evening. A brief summary of what's gone on with a request for information.
OK, a few (three) years ago my mother passed away. At the time of her passing, we were not on speaking terms due to a sibling/her other child. My mother had remarried and presumably the house passed to him. To be honest, he probably deserved it.
I have never requested to see the will, assuming one was made - indeed her husband has stated as much. However, I have never seen this will. I have never asked to see it and assumed it would be shown once the initial grief had worn off.
I am now concerned as my late mother's husband has now I'm told sold the house - my mother bought the house years before he was on the scene. There's now a new lady on the scene and he seems to have sold off the house to move along. I find it odd, that no will has been made available.
My question therefore is this - am I entitled to see any will made, and if so how do I go about it? To be clear, I'm not interested in disputing any legally made will - its what she wanted. I'm happy with that. I just find it distasteful that the house can be sold yet her children have not even seen a will.
Thanks is advance. I appreciate I may well be slamming stable doors here. Its just impolite.
