Question about funeral expenses

I have been cheated out of my inheritance by sister who lives in Australia, she gets my Mum's house, rental income from tenants in the house and half the residual estate which is very little. Once I found out I was no longer executor she took over everything didn't discuss it at all. She arranged for a livestream, and a DVD and USB sticks to be made, which I find a bit creepy, this is costing another £230. I'm happy to pay for the livestream, but should I have been consulted about the rest, as this is being paid for from the residual estate, as such think I should have had some say, , the dvd and usb are entirely for her benefit, does sound bit petty but she's getting a house worth over £400K while I just get about £4K if I'm lucky.

Leann you have now started 3 threads about concerns you have following your mother's passing and the appointment of your sister as executor. It would be better to keep to the one thread, as these posts are just different aspects of your concerns, and posters won't see the whole picture.

Regarding the costs the executor claims, you will (as residuary beneficiary) be entitled to a full accounting of the estate.
This should include a detailed breakdown of executors expenses.
When you receive the full accounts you will be able to challenge them if you think they are incorrect.

Sorry didn't realise had to put it all in one post. So as a residual beneficiary would I have any rights to challenge things and refuse to pay for them. Just would have thought if extras were added onto the funeral expenses for the benefit of one person, I should have been consulted. No problem with the normal funeral expense even though I wasn't consulted about it, just when I'm getting so little begrudge paying for her dvd and usb sticks!

Well you could write to her pointing out that she can only charge the estate for reasonable expenses.
Tell her you do not consider such items as reasonable.
Remind her she will need to give a full and accurate accounting when the estate settlement is finalised, That means all expenses that are incurred must be individually listed and evidenced with invoices and receipts.
