  • Outstanding Mortgage (Redemption Figure or outstanding mortgage)

    Hi all,

i am currently dealing with my late mothers estate and looking to value it for grant of probate.

one piece I cannot find clear information on is if there is an outstanding mortgage which needs to be listed as a debt.

are HMRC expecting the outstanding mortgage amount or the redemption figure?

As using the estate to pay of debt the bank would be expecting the redemption amount (due to paying mortgage off early) which is obviously more then the outstanding mortgage.

    thanks for your help!
