*I am unfortunately having to sell my beloved Dylan, lack of use means that it is silly to keep him.
Dylan is a 1979 late bay, with a Devon Moonraker Doubletop roof and a Westfalia Continental interior, (having owned several Type 2s over the years I have found this to be the optimum combination, as it gives the best furniture in the camping area, and the largest roof space, without going for a Viking spacesaver roof). He is immaculately clean and well presented.Engine size 1600 cc Petrol , 62k miles , 4 berth,15 gallons water capacity , 12V Lighting, Blinds, Cooker
He is like no other camper van I have ever seen with regards to condition, he has been fully restored by a professional coach-builder over the last year.
The restoration included extensive replacement of all of the rusted parts of the vehicle (pretty much the bottom 6 -12 inches all the way round) and return to bare metal for the rest of the vehicle, all the panels used were either AH Schofield or VW Heritage, imported dry state doors were used. The chassis and underside was sealed and fully treated with chassis paint, waxoyled then undersealed
The camper is in absolutely stunning condition inside and out, he is completely clean and totally rust free.
Panels replaced include all sills inside, middle and outer, front panel, side panels, lower rear quarters.
All lights were replaced.
Wheels powder-coated, including spare.
It was re-sprayed to the highest standard both inside and out, using authentic VW colours (Birch Green and Weiss)
Most seals have been redone, including all of the scrapers and aluminium parts in the cab doors, and new OEM wing mirrors.
In the past few years he has had :
SSP 1641 Engine.
Replacement Gearbox with New Clutch.
Imported Arizona Doors.
Australian Rust Free Front Beam
Reconditioned Steering box
New roof bellows, (including New Gas Struts).
New Carburettor
Full set of new tyres
Empi Shifter (set up properly!)
New windscreen wipers, and blades, new draglink, track rod, balljoints.
Electrics overhauled by a professional Auto Electrician.
Good Quality USB and jack in front Stereo, and very loud speakers in the back!
With the camper comes a full set of part worn tyres, a free spare front windscreen and a few boxes of VW goodies, including spare carburettor, switches and various other parts.
We also have purchased a complete camping set of crockery and cutlery which will be supplied with the camper allowing you to “ just add linen” and you will be ready to camp.
This van is in very good condition,I am sure it wouldn’t disappoint even the most hardened VW enthusiast.
He drives very well, possibly being the most solid VW camper I have had the pleasure to drive.
He comes with MOT, on the MOT there were no advisories, road tax also
