Hi everyone, I haven't found a thread for this particular circumstance.. I'd like to better understand whether or not my planned purchase of a vehicle would constitute a 'distance sale'.
I first saw the used vehicle advertised online, and it was at a showroom nearby my workplace. I popped in, unannounced and the salesman pointed me to the car, answered a few questions and I did a 360 sweep of the car and then left - literally in-and-out in 5 mins. No movement on price and I confirmed that I would not consider it further. 10 days later, I noticed that the price of the car had been reduced online, and I re-enquired via phone to a point where I am now about to make a deal remotely for home delivery. The Dealer has confirmed via email, that this would be a distance sale as I have not test driven the car or had a proper look around. All the purchase documents have been sent to me online.
With this, I'm fairly confident that it would be a distance sale, particularly with the Dealer confirming via email - but could I get tripped up down the line if I later need to return it during the 14 days (I have no intention of doing so), and they evidence that I did actually step inside the dealership? Many thanks!
