  • Selling House after Partner Moved Out

I'm looking to sell the house I lived in with my Ex-partner for a few years. The property was purchased with the mortgage solely in my name and with my deposit. She paid a couple of the monthly bills and gave me half the mortgage each month. I would estimate that I was paying about £150/month more than her when all bills (inc food shopping etc) are taken into account.

She wants 50% (less my deposit) from the proceeds of the sale, however, I have invested quite a bit of time and money into doing the place up to get a higher sale price. I also feel that as her son was living here I was funding him so only want to part with about 25% more as a goodwill gesture than anything else.

Legally can she claim more than I'm offering, we lived in Northern Ireland if that makes a difference.

    Thanks in advance.
