Hi everyone new the the group and would like some help if possible my partner who I have been with for 8 months living together a few months is going though a financial disclosure with his ex wife they have been divorced for 13 years and now only sorting out the finances because she did not want to deal with it
Her solicitors now want me to provide them with my financial details do I have to do it I have no interest in there property I have found this is this correct that i don’t need to

Your new partner has rights to privacy and doesn't need to provide statements unless the court makes an order for documents to be produced. This is rare and only happens when finances are joined with a new partner in such a way that the information is important

On Form E Financial Statement your new partner has to disclose he is living with a new partner.

There is also a question on the form asking about his new partner's income, assets and liabilities, as far as they are known to him

So as long as he completes the form providing information about your finances, as far as he knows, there is no requirement for you to answer the solicitor forwarding your personal financial position.

You could write back to the solicitor stating your partner will provide your financial information on Form E, as far as he is aware of (to the best of his knowledge)

The court cannot order you to make any payments to his ex wife.
