Hello,
In 2011, my divorce settlement (Trowbridge County Court) included Spousal Maintenance of £350 pcm payable to my ex-spouse until she re-married or co-habited etc., and she hasn't done either. I have continued to pay this amount but wish to revisit the ruling. Child maintenance was a separate ruling of which I fulfilled 100%; youngest is now nearly 21.
Two questions I guess. Firstly, is this something I can undertake directly with the court? (Of course I would notify my ex-spouse of my intention). Secondly, how do courts respond to historical rulings such as this?
Appreciate this might come down to wealth at the end of the day (She also got the marital home) but I don't want to spend thousands on this with solicitors, so hoping a Legal Beagle contributor has some experience of such a scenario and can provide some guidance please?
TIA,
B_M
