  • Revealing sperm donor identity

My wife had a child with her ex wife via sperm donor. This was done via someone known to them but a contract was signed between them with the donor forfeiting all rights.

My wife’s ex now wants to tell the child the identity of the sperm donor, I should note he is known to the family and so
the child knows who he is and would then know he is her biological father. My wife feels that this would be detrimental to the child and also to her rights as a parent.

Legally speaking is the ex allowed to do this without my wife’s consent? I know you can’t physically stop her telling her but it would be of comfort to my wife to know that legally this is not ok. If there are legal issues would a family law solicitor be able to actually do anything?

    How old is the child?
    What are her residency arrangements?
Is there any court arrangements in place?
Is your wife on amicable terms with her ex wife?
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )
