Re: Return to work after maternity leave.

    Just a quick up date.

I popped in to see daughter's employer today to see how things were going.

"following your letter, Des, I sought professional advice. Not a solicitor " he said (ACAS I thought)
"I'm about to write to Angharad to invite her to a meeting to see if we can come to an agreement over part time working"

He confirmed he realised she had a full time job to return to if negotiations failed!!

It appears someone explained the law to him, and additionally when all this is sorted out he will be producing written contracts.

Thank you all for your input.

Nice, Result!! Am happy for her Des. I bet she is soo happy, now she can be a mummy too and work part time, which is why the EU created equality law. Some may say, we should leave the EU...let me say though owing to the EU is why we had the 1970 Act....European Treaties had a significant part to the UK implementing the Equal Pay Act 1970/ successor statues, ie Equality Acts.
