    Notice period with no contract

    Hi, My husband wants to hand his notice in at work, he is a car mechanic. He has been at this job for 13 weeks and hasn't signed, seen or verbally told of any contract. How much notice legally would be have to give, he would like to only give one weeks notice if possible.
