I i was approached by lowells about 3 years ago saying i owed money for 2 things from tsb, at the time i was suffering from depression and i no real state to argue so i just started paying them, reading lots of stuiff now about their tactics so the question is should i stop paying them as they have never proved the debts were mine and ive never seen any signed agreements as when i have contacted them they have said they will put account on hold while they look into it but they have kept taking moneyb

How much are you paying each month and when you started making the payments did you go through your income and expenditure and ensure the amounts were affordable long term?

How much is outstanding on the debts ?

What were the original debts? Current Account ? Loan ? Credit Card ?
Do you know when those debts defaulted ? When they were sold to Lowell ?

First step in my view is to send a SAR to TSB Subject Access Request Letter

and then send a CCA request for each debt to Lowell. CCA Request

Don't stop payments until you've investigated ( unless they are completely unaffordable and putting you in difficulty with priority debts/bills of course ) - stopping payments is a quick fire way to end up with a court claim so check your position, and your circumstances first - see what the best route is to get these out of your hair.
