Help needed if possible. Short history - I was a director of a limited company -resigned 09/23 - DCB obtained a high court writ int he that companies name and address. DCB turned up at a different company address alleging it was a trading part of the same company - one that I had resigned from - and demanded £5k as part payment of a 9K debt. Evenafter being presented with evidence that the location was not a trading address 0 Business rates, bill, Licensing, Utlity and other documents they refused to inspect and began taking equipment. My daughter paid them 5K to get rid of them them and they provided a receipt marking it- paid by former directors daughter - . Now im not stupid but not conversant with bailiff law -. I have began proceedings and now DCB internal legal team have lodged a defence saying they were told it was a trading part. Can anyone with bailiff law help. Happy to pay

It's a bit late coming to us after the fact you have issued legal proceedings. What I never understand is why people decide to issue a claim not knowing the basis of the claim or the relevant law in question.
Your issue seems similar to an earlier thread you started and I responded to that with some guidance and recommended you reach out to a dedicated bailiff forum. Since you are back here with this specific question, I'm guessing you didn't do that and decided to go at it alone?

What exactly is it you need help with? You filed a claim, DCBL naturally filed a defence denying liability, so I'm not clear what you need.If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you
