Re: PRA County Court Claim for Credit Card

Hi all. Thanks again to everyone for all the great advice and support, it really helped me keep my chin up and I'm super happy this is now stayed.
I'm wondering what the next move is. Do I just walk away from it and hope they don't pursue it or is there something I can do to turn the tables? Can I claim back from them (other posts mention making a claim for the hours put in) or should I just not bother?

tks

Ahh that is good. I would just sit tight for a little while. The letter from PRA didn't mention the stay so they may not be aware. You could ask them to discontinue or apply to strike, but I would try have a chat with Paul pt2537 about the agreement and Hillesden v Moore as once you make a move they could try rectify any issues and these would be finer CCA points to argue, so best to know exactly where you stand first . Its hard to say whether to push them or not, sometimes hey just nevr do anything else after they get stayed, even if the agreement appears, other times they apply to lift stay and proceed six months down the line (once their communication catches up)... it is also a decent time to get a low f&f settlement.

Ok that isn't much help sorry, and sorry for typing standard, wonky tablet on my lap watching Italy v Germany xxx

Often its said to not poke the bear! although the PRA appear to be quite a useless Bear! however It all depends on what they have done, if they have somehow effected your credit file then you may push to have that removed, but if nothing has happened then leave it, let it be, no point chasing them for anything, despite the feeling you would love to stick it too them1!

Thanks livingthedream, that sounds like good advice. I've seen "The Revenant" so I think i'll put the stick down and slowly, slowly back away. For credit ref purposes there's been no acknowledgement/payment for almost 4 years so I'm happy to wait it out till it drops off my file.
