My posts here are based on my experience of a variety of life events. I have no formal legal training & if in doubt take professional legal advice or contact CAB. If you follow anything I write here you do so at your own risk & I accept no liability for any loss, costs or other outcomes.

I have just read the article by the BBC and I agree with Nick, it is entirely wrong to try and stifle freedom of expression even if this causes a financial loss to a company. If the expression is not justified then it is just as easy counter

That horrible little man who runs Ryanair seems to think, there is no such thing as bad publicity

You have to wonder where they get these figures from
As far as I can see they suffered no loss of goods and maybe an hour of a security guards time which is probably minimum wage with payroll taxes say £10

I think the fact the letter refers to a deterrent indicates that they are after punitive damages as the yanks say

Tell them to go whistle ( actually don't tell them anything , just ignore)

On a separate note, I wonder if there are cases where the relentless harassment of RLP has led to damages to the individual , at the least extreme, stress causing loss of work and at the most extreme - well those of us old enough will remember Lady Isobel Barnett

Which is why I label the actions of civil recovery firms as more despicable than those of the shoplifters they pursue.
