  • PPI offer

    Hi there,

I was wondering if you advise me on whether to accept a PPI settlement. I took out a Burton's scorecard in 1999 through their finance company GE CAPITAL BANK. Apparently this company is now owned by Santander. After 20% income deductions etc they have offered me £1050 saying that anything prior to 2005 I will have to prove as the don't have records. Does this sound reasonable of them to say?

They're not required to hold information that far back so as frustrating as it is there's not much you can do. I suppose you could accept their offer and send a subject access request in the hope that brings anything up further back.

I was thinking the same but just wanted to check. Thanks for replying.
