  • Access to grandchildren

Hello, my husband and I are currently going through the courts to regain access to our grandchildren who our daughter and partner have stopped us seeing due to a breakdown in our relationship. We previously had daily contact with our grandchildren up until a year ago when a dispute broke out between us and our daughter. As a result she has cut all contact and has refused to attend mediation, leaving us with no option but to go through the courts. To cut a long story short we are waiting for a visit from a Cafcass officer before attending a Final Hearing. We are legally represented but as stated in our post the Money and Debt we believe our solicitor has been acting unfairly and overcharging us for unnecessary work. What we are wondering is if it's worth being represented again at our Final Hearing? We believe it will make little difference to the outcome as it rests on the Cafcass officers report. Our daughter and partner have poisoned our grandchildren against us so we have little hope of a good outcome anyway :,-(
