• Tesco parking charge

My daughter has just received a Charge Notice from Highview Parking acting on behalf of Tesco to say that she needs to pay £70 within 28 days (£42 if paid within 14 days) as she exceeded her stay in the car park.

The Tesco Extra in question is part of a very large shopping complex which includes a cinema and restaurants. The car park is part of a larger car park.

Any advice? Please help.

Re: Tesco parking charge

Hi Ruby ... the first thing she needs to do is go back to the shops she visited and ask the manager/s if he can cancel the charge (they might ask for proof of custom).

Highview are BPA members, so an appeal against the charge asking for a POPLA code is in order too

once she's got a popla code there's always help with a second appeal

Hi Ruby

Was there a windscreen ticket/ notice given to the driver at the time of the parking event?
Do they use ANPR?

Re: Tesco parking charge

Hi sorry for late response. No there was no windscreen ticket or notice given to the driver at the time of the parking event. They sent two photos of my daughters car whilst she was clearly driving on the road in the proximity of the car park (not in it) which happens to be part of a large local shopping complex. I have googled the company and have consequently decided to ignore their letter, they can't enforce

Another way of trying to making money out of us poor motorists!!!!

Ok, Ruby.

(Though I'd be tempted to contact them to explain to them exactly how & where they can 'park' their PCN!)
