  • ZZPS/Wright Hassall - Chasing a PCN

    Hello all,

I was hoping to gain some advice from this forum regarding a Parking Charge Notice.

I work for a NHS Hospital that use Indigo Park Services UK Ltd. On 18/01/2017 I received a window parking ticket for parking mounting a curb.

I have ignored every correspondence from initially Indigo, then handed to ZZPS Ltd, and finally Wright Hassall solicitors.

My latest letter I received today (22/05/2017), from Wright Hassall, giving me another 14 days from the day of the letter (17/05/2017) to pay a fine of £176. The letter says WH (anticipate being instructed to commence County Court proceedings against you without further notice." It also threatens issue of Count Court Judgement.

Since the letter previous to this, I did some research and found that a CCJ can only be issued if the case goes to court, I lose in court, and fail to pay the judge's fine in 30 days.

I have not made any sort of informal or formal appeal, or made any contact to Indigo, ZZPS or Wright Hassall.

I was hoping to gain some advice and knowledge here. Looking back, it was probably a bad idea to claim total ignorance, but I have not been at this job long, and received overwhelming advice from most of my colleagues that have been issued tickets to ignore it.

My only plan is that if and when it reaches court, lay out my defense as Indigo providing too many permits to parking spaces, leaving staff no option but to park mounting curbs. Furthermore, that I have an upstanding duty to staff and patients to provide a critlcal public service, and that it is morally wrong to victimise staff in this way.

    Thanks in advance!
