  • VT PCP 11mm chip in windscreen

Hi I have VT my Nissan on collection Manheim rep says I will be charged for a new windscreen for an 11mm chip in my windscreen which is not in the field of vision (under the wiper) and has passed its MOT a week previous to collection. Will the finance company be able to charge me for this.

      Hello,

It's a judgment call for you really. Manheim work alongside the standards of the BVRLA which in my personal view is a higher standard than 'reasonable condition'. You could argue that it has already passed its MOT and if it was a big issue it would have failed, but being behind the windscreen wiper it is not a hazard and so you could classify it as stone chips from driving and therefore falls within the boundaries of reasonable wear and tear.

Alternatively, you can opt to pay whatever the lender charges you for it, £45 quid, maybe more?

The lender will probably charge you for it, but its a question of whether you think its reaosnable and want to pay for it.
If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you
