  • Help with possible loss of job

Good Morning and thank you for taking time out to read this.

Ive worked at my current job for around 13 years until it was transfered from Esso to a group called Rontec. I was then transfered again to a commissioned operator (co)who ive been currently working for 2 years.

I was called in to work today as there had been an accusation from esso that i was damaging its brand online. Esso had complained to Rontec who are demanding an answer from my co. The accusations are basically that i was offering sexual services at the garage i work at on sites such as grindr and squirt (both online hook up sites) , an accusation that i deny strongly. (My full name and garage address was on these sites apparently)

I had to fill out a form which asked

    1. Did i do it
    2. Why did i do it
    3. Do i realise how it damages esso

Now ive been told that my job hangs in the balance with esso and rontec* who are investigating and will say either way but even my co could see that this was obviously malicious. Esso so far have not offered any evidence as of yet so that im able to go to the police.

Ive asked my long term bf to sign up for both sites and try to locate this so called damaging posts but ge could find nothing of the sort.

I understand that rontec and esso need to investigate but it feels like im being accused of doing this. (Is this not defamation )

Now im worried for my job and this has bought on a lot of stress for me to the point of wondering why i bother.

If i lost my job would i have any recourse for this ?

Also without evidence would this fall under deframation where by i could ask/force esso to apologise for its wrongful accusations and for putting my job at risk ?

Many thanks for reading and hopefully i keep my job :/
