  • Bailiffs removing your car - rights

    Hi
my brother had a bailiff attend his house today with regard to a £400 parking fine. My brother said he would pay by instalments, however the bailiff stated that wasn't good enough and he would take his car worth £4000 immediately if he didn't pay the full amount. Is this right, can a £4000 car be taken for just a £400 debt?

Debt is like any other trap, easy enough to get into, but hard enough to get out of.

Who issued the ticket & did you know about it? Yes a car of that value could be taken to satisfy the debt. What paperwork have you had over this?
