  • Agreed tax credits repayments but signed over to advantis

    Hi,
We recieved letters to say we'd overpaid working and child tax credits amounting to £1800 in total.
We agreed to pay £75 a month back, whcih we have been doing for almost 6 months with no missed or late payments.
Today we have received a letter from Advantis for £1000 which we believe is one of the tax credits amounts. So it seems HMRC didn't tie the two amounts together as agreed. (This should be recorded on our calls to HMRC shouldn't it?)
Where do we stand? I've read that Advantis are agressive so I want to avoid dealing with them if possible.
    Thanks.

Hi and welcome to Legal Beagles.
Firstly do you agree with the figure that is stated you owe?
Have you anything in wring re your agreement with HMRC?
You need to get back on to HMRC and find out exactly why your details have been passed to a DCA.
